Political forum: Is Obama the next JFK? Are people fed up with politics?
The Career Planning and Counseling Center is hosting its annual Career Fair Wednesday in the College Center Lounge.
Local employers will come to campus to connect with future applicants. They will provide information about the types of careers and opportunities their company offers as well as some active recruitment.
The employers coming to campus include KGW 8, United States Boarder Patrol, Comcast Cable, Les Schwab Tire Center, Radio Disney, Sage Software, FedEx Ground, Dryers Grand Ice Cream, Portland Police Bureau, Oil Can Henry’s, UPS, Boeing, Adventist Medical Center, Warner Pacific College and many more.
It is an opportunity for students and community members to find jobs, that are of immediate need as well as short and long term careers, said Eric Juenemann, career and experimental learning specialist.
According to the career center website, it is an opportunity for people to talk with recruiters about full-time career positions, part-time and seasonal jobs, and internships from a broad spectrum of industries, including the non-profit and government sectors.
“It is an opportunity for students to practice their networking skills with employers and to explore different career opportunities,” Juenemann said. “This is a convenient way to get face-to-face networking with a diverse group of employers.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the College Center Lounge. Coordinators are hoping to have more than 600 people attend the event to exceed the previous year’s record.
