Forensics team to compete next week

The MHCC Forensics team will compete in the Lower Columbia College Smelt Classic Nov. 6 and 7.
Forensics adviser Shannon Valdivia said the team is “preparing more individual events and the team will be hosting a British Parliamentary Debate Workshop on continuing efforts in making a successful transition into a new style of debate.”
Eight members of the MHCC Forensics team competed in the first Greater Portland Parliamentary League Tournament of the 2009-2010 academic year at Lower Columbia College Oct. 21.
In Open Division the teams of Jeff Lewis/Genia Findley and Heidi Miller/Kevin Craig shared first place. The team also won gold in the Novice Division. The team of Theron Lee and Tim Heffernan won this division.
