Library exhibit to display American Indian culture

Mario Rubio

The nine federally recognized tribes of Oregon and the Oregon Historical Society are offering an American Indian exhibit on campus this month showcasing Oregon’s native culture.

“The Land” is one of the three exhibits sponsored by the Oregon Historical society and will be hosted at the MHCC library beginning this week. Other exhibits include “Federal Indian Policies,” which will be held at the Midland Library, and “Traditions are Blind,” held at the Gresham Library.

The show will be open for all of January. Rose Charley, a member of the Warm Springs reservation, will be a guest speaker on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Bob Scott Room in the MHCC library, where the show is taking place.

More information about the exhibit, including photos, will be available in future publications, but the exhibit is open for public viewing in the Bob Scott Room.
