Get involved in the Physical Therapists Assistants’ Club

The Physical Therapist Assistants’ Club at MHCC is geared toward a social networking concept and support for students enrolled in the Physical Therapy Program.

According to Jane Cedar, instructor of physical therapy at MHCC, about three quarters of the students enrolled in the program are members of the club.

The club is open to all students, but would-be members must attend a meeting, request to join and be “voted in” by the existing members, according to Cedar.

“We don’t advertise much outside the program,” Cedar said. “(But) we’re not trying to be a secret society.

“We are a very active club,” says Cedar.

This year the club has held a Halloween party, had a speaker talk about job opportunities overseas, and is involved with Something Wonderful, MHCC’s charity program of adopting an underprivileged family for the holidays.

Students are also designing t-shirts for the club.

The club typically meets on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. in the Physical Therapy Assistant lab in Room 2734.
