The MHCC Foundation raised $106,707 by the end of March to qualify for a matching contribution from the James F. and Mario L. Miller Foundation.

The Miller Foundation Scholarship application will be available June 30. To be eligible for a Miller Foundation scholarship, students must apply for financial aid.
The Miller Foundation scholarship awards range from $500 to $3,000 per student, based on their financial aid package.

The Miller Foundation challenged the 17 community colleges in Oregon to raise money for student scholarships with the incentive that the Miller Foundation would match the amount the college had received in scholarship donations.

In a press release, MHCC President John Sygielski said this new scholarship will greatly increase the foundation’s ability to help MHCC students.
