Halloween Breifs

Halloween Activities
The MHCC Student Activities Board will sponsor several Halloween related events Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Vista Dining Center. There will be a costume contest, a mummy wrap contest and a pumpkin pie-eating contest. Prizes for these events include gift cards to the MHCC bookstore, free lunches from Chartwells, movie tickets, goodie baskets and prizes from Geno’s, Starbucks or ColdStone.

Halloween Dance
MHCC’s Latino Club will sponsor a Halloween dance Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight in the Vista Dining Center. Admission is three cans of non-perishable food or $5. There will be a costume contest with prizes for the top three winners. Music will be provided by DJ Arce.

Day of The Dead
MHCC’s Latino Club and SAB will host Dia de los Muertos, (Day of The Dead) Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. in the College Center. One of the club members are scheduled to speak about the origin of the Day of The Dead. There will also be a performance by Latino musicians.

Halloween Book Sale
There will be a book sale held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Vista Dining Center, sponsored by the Mt. Hood Community College Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges. The Bear Raffle Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. During the sale, buy a cup of coffee at Chartwells and get a free paperback of your choice
