2009-10 ASG budget clears hurdles,
awaits approval by district board
The 2009-2010 Associated Student Government budget has been approved by the Student Senate and Executive Cabinet, according to Director of Student Life Robert Cox and now goes to the president and district board for final approval.
Cox said the proposed $531,000 budget went through the student process with no problems. “Everything went fast,” he said. “The proposed budget is sitting in the College Budget Office where it waits to be approved by President John Sygielski.”
The proposed budget will remain in the budget office until the April 15 district budget committee meeting, Sygielski said.
The budget numbers for co-curricular and athletics have not changed since the first ASG Finance Council meetings in January. Cox said a $2.50 student fee per credit provides the funding for the projected budget.
According to Sygielski, budget talks are started early to get the process done by April so that the budget can be reviewed and certified in June by the Multnomah County Tax Supervising and Conservation Commission.
