Free hair wash and style available for MHCC students
The Image Makers club is offering free hair wash and style through the end of the term. Appointments can be made for Mondays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. For an additional $4, the students in the Image Makers club can also do a haircut. A raffle is being held; tickets are available at the hair salon in the Cosmetology Department and cost $1 each. The grand prize is $100 worth of “sexy hair” products. Funds support the Image Makers club and the hair competition in April.

KMHD radio’s phone-a-thon runs through March 8
As a self-sustaining public radio station, they are responsible for raising their funds. There are usually three fundraisers a year, according to Development Director Calvin Walker. As of March 5 at 9:45 a.m. the station, which serves 125,000 listeners a week, had raised $46,778, which is more than halfway to the $80,000 goal. During the fall 2008 fundraiser the station raised about $120,000. To pledge and support the station, visit the website at www.kmhd.org.

Deadline approaching for study abroad program
Students who would like to study at Ryukoku University in Japan must enroll by March 20. The study abroad program in Kyoto, Japan, runs from June 29 to July 20 and costs approximately $3,000. This includes tuition, 30 hours of classroom instruction, round-trip airfare, lodging in a hotel or dorm, transportation to Ryukoku University and five field trips. Auditions start March 10 for spring theater production
On March 10-11, auditions will start for the MHCC spring theater production of “Antigone.” The auditions will take place in the Studio Theatre, starting at 4 p.m. “Antigone” will be performed April 29-May 3 in the Studio Theatre.

Advanced painting students exhibit work in Visual Arts Center
MHCC advanced painting students present “Vision from the Narrative Gateway” from March 2-27 in the Visual Arts Gallery. A reception will take place Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Tutors needed for Volunteer Literacy Program
The Volunteer Literacy Program offers assistance in basic literacy, GED preparation and English as a second language to adults, but tutors are needed. Free training dates are March 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bob Scott Room in the MHCC library. Tutor times are flexible and no experience is needed.
