Chat with Barney

We’re always up for new endeavors at the Advocate. While effective communication between the press and the student community is no piece of strawberry short cake, a little ingenuity nurtures a substantial relationship. Chat with Barney is a step up the staircase compared to our communication techniques from last year. Besides quoting what you have to say, like last year’s “Talk to Bob,” we’re offering you an invitation to ask us advice. We will respond to you. We are also open to your criticism and ideas regarding the opinion content we display in our newspaper and on the web. We’ve adopted Barney the Saint Bernard as our central icon because he is the mascot of MHCC and because we feel that Barney embodies the concept of the student voice.
