In their NWAC tournament opener on Thursday, Mt. Hood hung tough with Bellevue but couldn’t quite grab the win, losing 61-57, and being eliminated from the tourney.

After a tight first half, the Saints trailed by nine points midway in the third quarter. Twice they cut the Bulldogs’ lead to just 1, and had the ball, down 2 points, inside the game’s final minute.

Unfortunately the Saints couldn’t control a couple of loose balls late, and two final Bellevue free throws cinched the game. The Saints’ season ended with a 12-15 record.
