Saints Look Ahead to 2024 Softball and Baseball
With spring itself just around the corner, the Mt. Hood Community College baseball and softball teams have been training and playing preseason games to prep for their 2024 season.


The Saints players are eager to get started and to compete for real against other regional college teams in their Northwest Athletic Conference, the NWAC.
The Mt. Hood baseball team has its season opener tomorrow (Saturday, March 9) at Clackamas Community College, playing two games against the Cougars. The Saints won two games and lost four during preseason play.
Looking back to the 2023 season, the Saints won 17 conference games and lost 19, with a win/loss record of 18-22 for all games played. The team played better at home, going 8 – 6.
Captain of the team, sophomore catcher/outfielder Isaiah Chacon, said that he is excited for the season opener and the Saints kicking off their season. Key players to look out for this season, he said, are sophomore Josh Mansur, third baseman/pitcher, and freshman third baseman Tyler Eisenhut.

The Saints’ first regular-season home games (all conference match-ups are doubleheaders) are set for Saturday, March 16, against Chemeketa Community College.
Having a much better preseason was the Mt. Hood softball team., which kicks off its season on Friday. March 15, at home against Clackamas. Looking back at 2023, the Saints had an overall win/loss record of 38-9, with a record of 15-2 at home. The defending 2022 NWAC champions got into the first round of the playoffs but lost to Lower Columbia College.
There is lots to look forward to in the upcoming Mt. Hood NWAC seasons, with the softball team set to have another strong year and the baseball team excited to get its season started and improve from last year.
