CLUBS ON CAMPUS

American Sign Language (ASL)

Anyone is welcome. The purpose of this club is to promote education on sign language. No experience is required to join; it is a safe place to learn and practice. Meetings are on Tuesday(s), Jan. 29, Feb. 26, and March 12, from 3 to 4:30 pm., and on Wednesday(s), Jan. 30, Feb. 13, Feb. 27 and March 13, from 4 to 5:30 pm, all in AC 1001.

Conservation Club

Meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month in AC 1152 (Council Chamber) from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Student Union. Anyone can join. This club also works with the Sustainability Committee. This club comes together to promote ways to conserve the environment.

Northwest Collegiate Ministries

This is a Christian club that meets from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Jazz Cafe in AC 2059. Free pizza is given to anyone who attends. Bible study is held after lunch. This club does community service and volunteering. It also is seen as a good way to meet new people and get connected.

Theatre Club

This student-led club meets every other Thursday for an hour in the Studio Theatre. Anyone is welcome to join. Its next show is scheduled for March 15 and 16, called “Cabaret.” For more information, visit the Facebook page at “Thespian Empire MHCC.”

Mental Health Club (MHSSAC)

The application deadline for this club is on April 12. Discussions and courses around mental health issues are hosted. Located in the 1700 Building in the Health Professions department; one-hour meetings are held twice a month. Can help MHCC students link with professional resources.

Image Makers

This is the cosmetology club. This club has weekly meetings, with the purpose of gathering to come up with ideas on how to advertise the cosmetology program and salon, fundraisers, and new ideas for the salon. Must be a part of the cosmetology program to be a part of the club.

Student Nurses Association

Meets one Tuesday per month. To have an active role in the club, members must be a part of the Nursing program. However, students and community members are welcome to sit in on meetings and get advice on ways to apply for the program. This club does volunteer work and fundraising. Dental Hygiene Club

This is a support system for those enrolled in the program, and helps guide students who want to join the program. For more information, see: mhcc.edu/LRadmissions.
