MHCC Baseball Team Plays Hard at Home

The Mt. Hood baseball team played on its home field for the first time in the 2023-2024 season on March 30 against Linn-Benton Community College, dropping a pair of games, 9-5 and 3-0.
While the Saints technically had a home doubleheader March 10 against Lane Community College, those two games were played at Camas High School because their Gresham campus home, Oslund Field, was not yet in proper game condition.
The two losses to the Roadrunners on March 30 did not seem due to a lack of effort, with the Saints team giving it their all including multiple diving plays at first base and home plate.
The first game started strong for Linn-Benton, which scored three runs in the first two innings. The Saints did not score until the sixth inning, then quickly followed up with three more runs in the seventh inning. However, in the ninth inning Linn-Benton scored three runs to secure the victory and move onto the second contest.
Unfortunately, the Saints went scoreless in the second game, while the Roadrunners scored one run in each of the third, sixth, and seventh innings. Some of the notable performances from both games for the Saints were left fielder Alex Hendrickson, who had four hits total, and third baseman Tyler Eisenhut, who recorded three hits on the day.
MHCC has an overall record of 6 wins and 16 losses for the season, with a 4-12 record in Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) play.
The next Saints home contests take place on Saturday, April 13, against Clackamas Community College, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. and the second set at 4 p.m.
