The Advocate takes first place at state awards

The Advocate staff hit the road to Linn-Benton Community College last Friday for the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association Collegiate Day Awards, and brought home a lofty prize.

The student publication won first place in its classification for General Excellence, based on three entire issues scrutinized by judges – a first for Mt. Hood.

The Advocate competed with non-daily student publications at Oregon schools without a four-year degree program (essentially community colleges).
