FastTrack summer registrationto begin May 15

Open registration for MHCC’s new Summer FastTrack Program starts May 15.

The Summer FastTrack program allows students to take courses during the summer and provides the opportunity to earn five credits in as little as three weeks.  Students have the option of taking a group (bundle) of classes or have the option of taking one or two classes.

Students can earn credits in Business Management, Computer Information Systems, English, Health, P.E., Aquatics, Math Modern Language, Retail Management, Science, Science, Social Science, Small Business Management, and Visual Arts.

The program is helpful to students because it “alerts students to what is available and strategically start their studies” said Maggie Huffman, MHCC director of communications.

The program was put together collaboratively through faculty, deans, the Office of Instruction, IT, and College Advancement at MHCC. One of the reasons the program was put together was because it “helps students to select classes that are focused and an efficient, strategic entry into their areas of studies,” said Huffman.

Another benefit to being in the Summer FastTrack program, Huffman said, is because students can take “bundled and individual classes that are foundational to programs and areas of studies.”

Huffman also said the Summer FastTrack program is convenient for students “who want to complete prerequisites. Students who want to focus on a subject and, for example, complete a language requirement, a writing series.”
Students who decide on taking a bundle of classes can enter to win a free iPad.

To register to win the iPad, students need to fill out the online application under the Summer FastTrack program on the MHCC website.  Only students who are taking a bundle are eligible to win the iPad.
